Industry Service Focus: Administration and Client Services
Matt joined Renner and Company in February 2020. He worked in the newspaper industry for 16 years, with time logged as a reporter, copy editor and page designer. In his role with the firm, Matt assists clients with technical issues, such as portal management and guidance with electronic organizers.
Mr. Cobbs also plays a critical role during tax season, managing the delivery and assembly of electronic organizers and tax workpapers sent to the firm through portals. He also proofreads documents as needed, maintains the firm CPE records, manages the social media accounts, inputs new client forms and sets up new projects.
Matt graduated from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida, in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Mr. Cobbs has lived all over Virginia since arriving in 2009, having spent time in Lynchburg, Richmond, Fredericksburg and Alexandria.
He and his wife, Melissa, enjoy visiting different areas in Virginia, from the mountains to the beach as well as area wineries and breweries.
