Renner Firm News; May 26, 2021

Andrew Young, a shareholder at Renner & Company, has been selected as a member of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce’s 2021 Class of 40 Under 40. The program, in its sixth year, recognizes top individuals, less than 40 years of age, from Alexandria and the surrounding region in a variety of industries and from unique backgrounds.

Award winners will be recognized at an evening virtual celebration on July 15.

The selection committee was particularly impressed with Mr. Young’s professional and scholastic accomplishments, pandemic resiliency and his personal story.

Mr. Young joined Renner & Company in 2009 after several years of public accounting experience with both Big Four and regional firms in New York. In his 12 years with Renner & Company — the past eight as a shareholder — Mr. Young has been an integral part of growing the firm’s audit practice.

Mr. Young is passionate about serving the nonprofit community in Alexandria. His experience includes audits of trade associations, public charities, private foundations, labor unions, schools and other tax-exempt organizations, in addition to advisory services.

He served on the board of directors for 10 years for Liberty’s Promise, Inc., a nonprofit organization in Alexandria that supports young immigrants while encouraging them to be active and conscientious American citizens.

Being part of the Renner partnership group, Mr. Young has been integrally involved in helping to move the firm from an in-person office to a remote one, and the challenges that come with such a transition.

Outside of his work, Mr. Young’s passion lies with his family. He is happily married to his wife, Seble, and they have two sons, Ethan, 7, and Ezra, 4, and a 2-year-old daughter, Elle.

Andrew and Seble partner with organizations in Ethiopia to help those in extreme poverty and getting them even the most basic of care, such as a doctor’s visit.
